I strongly believe in building a meaningful relationship with subscribers and not just doing it for the sake of money. Business is a 2 way street. Customers are not going to spend where they feel like they are not getting value. So creating value is a great idea!

Thanks Jane, I totally agree with the information here and you have explained the importance of building relationships really well. People don’t realise how important this actually is to building and sustaining a viable business. Thanks for sharing 🙂

Long before the internet days, we mailed out a newsletter. It was at least quarterly. It described our activities (superbly cleansed of client identification) and what new things we felt our clients should learn.
When our clients were able to use the internet (we had access for decades before them. You know, 32.20.202.11), we converted from snail to eMail. But, we realized that was a bigger burden for our clients- to discern the wheat from the chaff. So, we terminated the practice. And, I began a blog (or two or three). And notified clients when something in their bailiwick was posted- or if something they needed to know became available. Now, it’s only one blog- and we still do the same thing. (Except now I notice about 70% of our long-term clients are subscribers. So, we need to clean up our “notification” list….)
